COMMENTARY Welcome to the Tennessee backwoods judicial system where white supremacy is real and palpable.
The prosecutor secretly negotiated and accepted an immoral and unjust plea deal in the case of Tennessee v. Delke today – a case where a 27 year-old white cop murdered a 25 year-old black man without provocation, shooting him in the back while he was fleeing.
Video showed police officer, Andrew Delke, chasing and shooting Daniel Hambrick, who was fleeing from the cop, in the back.
This is clearly a capital murder case that the prosecutor pawned off for three years in prison on a down graded charge of first-degree manslaughter.
The prosecutor did NOT consult with the victim’s family before accepting the plea deal.
The murderer, an on-duty police officer, should have gotten the death penalty or at least 30 years to life without parole.
The victim’s mother, Vickie Hambrick, righteously lunged at the prosecutor’s table over the rail separating the audience from the attorneys, telling them they can “rot in hell.”
