All Charges Dismissed with Prejudice

Scottie Scheffler Cannot Bring Suit

Officer was Disciplined for For Body Cam Violation

COMMENTARY IN NEWS REPORT

UPDATE: 5/27/24

All charges against Scottie Scheffler were “dismissed with prejudice” by County Attorney for Louisville, Jefferson County, Ky., citing the lack of any evidence corroborating the arresting officer’s sworn statement about allegedly being “dragged” by Scheffler’s PGA car.

“Dismissal with prejudice” means the charges are not allowed to be reinstated later, so they are forever gone. In Kentucky, such dismissal includes an agreement with the defendant not to bring suit against the arresting officer, city, or state.

The officer was also disciplined for failing to activate his body camera. No data from other area cameras showed the officer being dragged, despite PGA property cameras that had continuous minute-to-minute recordings of the event from different locations.

Louisville Metro Police continues to enjoy the same reputation that created the nightmare surrounding their murder of firefighter, Breanna Taylor.

New Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn Villaroel is feckless and must be replaced before any meaningful, practical, and substantive positive changes may happen.

Why pay millions for body cams that are not used? Feckless and stupid lack of leadership.

Villaroel was appointed as the Interim Chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) by Mayor Craig Greenberg on January 2, 2023.

After conducting a comprehensive nationwide search, she was selected to become Louisville’s next police chief on July 20, 2023.

Villaroel came from the Atlanta Police Dept., with impressive credentials that are not producing the needed results in a timely manner.

If the feckless way in which Villaroel handled the arresting officer is the best she can do, she should resign.

According to talk shows and Associated Press,* twice “Masters champion, Scottie Scheffler, was arrested” and charged with a felony assault of an officer along with multiple misdemeanors after allegedly dragging an officer while trying to get around the scene of a fatal accident near the entrance of the PGA tournament site in Louisville, Ky., hours before the start of the second-round of the 2024 PGA Championship.*

Louisville Metro Police came under federal investigation after the Breanna Taylor shooting; but, apparently that has not resulted in much change in the allegedly over-reactive responses of police to everyday citizens.

Mr. Scheffler’s version of the story is allegedly that he was already waived past the site of the road closure before reaching the officer whom Scheffler allegedly “dragged” while officer was attached to his vehicle.

What idiot grabs any part of a moving 2-ton vehicle? Allegedly, an LMP detective was so bright.

White Privilege Gone Wild?

OK, we got it. But, apparently, Scheffler was treated as any other arrestee at the Louisville Metro Detention Center JAIL because he was apparently strip-searched, de-loused, and ordered into an orange jumpsuit, traditional garb of jail inmates, and it was over two hours before he was released on his own recognizance.

Technically, that makes him the cleanest player at the Valhalla because who else was de-loused?

Release and bail are determined by ones stature (which is arguably a subjective and politically motivated decision that considers your status in life, financial credit worthiness, education, past failures to appear – if any, etc.).

So far, we have not seen any special privilege bestowed on Scheffler because due to his wealth and fame and likeliness to appear at his arraignment next week, he was relatively quickly released – not that uncommon.

However, if his felony charge is dismissed or if he serves no jail time, there probably is some white privilege gone wild.

Gov. Beshear’s Troubled Kentucky GULAG

Just this month, the feds announced a further investigation into Kentucky’s troubled juvenile “justice” gulag which has pending rape and other charges alleged against various parties in civil suit.
