148th Kentucky Derby in Louisville
Maybe a Rainy Day
Lexington Has Keeneland Derby Party
5/05/2022
The first Saturday in May this year may be a splash in the mud for the thoroughbreds running for the first leg of the Triple Crown, if meteorologists have it right three days ahead of the fastest two minutes in sports.
JournalKentucky.com wishes all the best to the crowd, the jockeys, and the horses.
We must mention that legendary trainer with Derby winning horses, Bob Baffert, is currently banned from the Churchill Downs race track; however, horses he trained are entered in the Kentucky Derby under the aegis of replacement trainers.
Apparently, many visitors come to Lexington for the race, not knowing that the Kentucky Derby is held by Churchill Downs in Louisville.
If you are one of the unfortunate misled people who came to Lexington for the race, try going to Keeneland across the street from the Lexington airport, which is hosting a watch party that will have a manageable crowd in a racing atmosphere.
Good luck to all.
