Speaking at Mayor Linda Gorton’s press conference, the new director of Emergency services, Rob Larkin, asked residents to visit https://BeReadyLexington.com to report problems from the severe storm this morning.

Fire department has responded to 61 calls which include some trees fallen into homes, bodily injuries, and one collapsed structure.
Since 9 a.m., E.D.S.T., police have responded to three injuries, six motor assists, 40 traffic hazzards including downed trees and power lines, etc., according to Chief Lawrence Weathers.
The police chopter was used to surveil some damage.
Flashing red traffic lights mean stop and go when clear; yellow flashing means proceed with caution.
Rob Allen, director of streets and Roads, said his staff is now clearing fallen trees (45 calls) and urges citizens to report such damages to 311, not the emergency line (911).
Do not attempt to remove a tree without taking photographs first for insurance purposes; and, never go near a tree on a power line, call the power company or 311.
UK is closing at 12:30 p.m., today in advance of the looming second round of high wind and thunderstorms.
A tornado watch ended at noon today. No tornadoes were reported, despite high winds with significant damage including power outages in about 9,800 homes and businesses.
Apparently power has already been restored to about 1,200 out of the 11,000 reported out this morning.
